Dark Souls 100%

This is a special one. A game I have played so many times but never gained 100%. But this is the time and honestly it was not that bad.

First Achievement that some how only 71% of people have. It requires you to open a door, climb a ladder and click on the bonfire.

Another easy one, talk to Oscar or take him out. Either way super simple.

Done with the tutorial we have arrived in the land of the gods!

We join our first covenant. Just talk to bowel cut. We will have to buy miracles off him. So might as well make friends now.

You either need 25 faith or helped a few people beat some bosses. This covenant is need to get all the miracles in the game. But we will talk about that later.

So here is the first of the worst Achievements in the game. There is one for getting a weapon to the end of each upgrade branch. I made a spreadsheet for this. To do this along with getting every rare weapon, you will need over 350 Titanite Shards, over 150 Large Titanite along with various others. You can grind for these which will take forever or you can buy them that takes a huge amount of souls. There is a way to duplicate souls getting you millions really quickly. I am not encouraging this but if you do start to lose your mind the option is there. It is really easy to do, just saying. For this achievement I drained New Londo early and killed a lot of Darkwraiths to get some chunks. I also returned to the asylum and got a slab from the Stray Demon.

Beat the Gargoyles and rung our first bell.

Need to get to the abyss early to join the Darkwraiths so off to the forest. Might as well pick this one up on the way.

We beat Sif for the first of three times. I hate doing it but the achievements are forcing my hand.

Four Kings is a simple DPS race. With a +15 Halberd they aren’t a problem.

We then meet our odd snake friend Kaathe and join his covenant.

Down to blight town and we deal with Quelaag. Note here, don’t use boss souls by accident, put them in your bottomless box. Also remember to cut of the Gaping Dragons tail.

We then talk to the fair lady to join her covenant. Another note, switching between covenants drops your ranking with them. If you need to reach a certain rank with them to get a spell, miracle, pyromancy or weapon. Make sure you have the required item before joining. Save a lot of trouble later.

Head down to the catacombs to clear a way to the tomb of the giants. Came this way to get the Darkmoon seance ring.

Raw weapon is a simple upgrade, only requires Large Titanite.

We make our way through Sen’s Fortress to the gods seat of power.

So this covenant gives you miracles at rank one. To do this you need 10 Souvenir of Reprisals. These drop from the Crow people in the painted world. Have fun grinding.

We defeat Crossbreed Priscilla while remembering to cut off her tail. She is one of the few bosses you only have to kill once as her soul is only used for one weapon.

Beating Ornstein and Smough we find Gwynevere and get the power to teleport.

We also join Gwynevere’s covenant.

The items required to rank up in the Gravelord Servant covenant is eyes of death. The are dropped by basilisk’s enjoy another grind.

Now we can teleport, we travel to Ash Lake, join the covenant and cut of a dragon tail.

We break Seath’s crystal, cut of his tail and then finish him off.

To do this you need to complete Big Hat Logan’s quest line. Mostly involves buying all his spells and saving him in the archives. Then a little bit of murder.

We got a Blue Titanite Slab outside Seath’s boss room so got one upgrade path out the way.

Worst boss in the game by far. But regarding upgrades, just outside the boss room is a part of Seigmeyer’s quest line. Finishing his quest gives you a Titanite Slab but I failed here and he died. Totally not my fault. He ran into my spinning Halberd.

To do fire and chaos upgrades you need to meet Vamos the skeleton blacksmith. Fun Guy, bad audio mixing on his voice.

Returning to Quelana after killing the Bed of Chaos, she gives us the final Pyromancy I needed.

I didn’t need anything else in Anor Londo so ran down the infinite hallway and ended Gwyndolin.

The last of the Great Lords. Nito is fine, his little skeleton friends are not.

Before we end out first playthrough we are going to upgrade as many of our weapons as we can. There are three Titanite Slabs in each playthrough and the two coloured ones of each type.

As I failed to Seigmeyer’s quest I would need to get the final Titanite Slab in New Game Plus. But as we would need to get to New Game Plus Two anyway this isn’t a problem.

Most boss souls are required twice to make every boss weapon, Sif three times and Gwyn’s soul is needed for a weapon and a miracle. Two and a half playthroughs are need for 100%

While Titanite Shards, Large Titanite and Green Titanite can all be purchased. You will have to grind for Chunks of each type.

Best place to do this is the Kiln of the First Flame. Each Knight drops a Chunk of each type without fail. And if your like me and need a few Black Knight weapon drops, you will run it anyway

With the help of Solaire we beat Gwyn and Link the Fire. On to New Game Plus!

First we re-join the sunlight covenant and hand in Gwyn’s soul to get the final miracles. You will need to hand in 10 sunlight medals to get to rank 1. You can grind Chaos Bugs for them.

We also beat the Stray Demon again to get the final slab finishing these terrible Achievements.

We then run through the game killing the bosses who’s souls we need for the boss weapons. We beat the game and become the Dark Lord.

Now on New Game Plus 2, we beat Sif and play through the game until we reach the Giant Blacksmith. We hand in Gwyn and Sif’s souls and make our final rare weapons.

And that is it, only 2.5% percent of people have done this and I get why. Grinding Titanite is the worst. Unless you maybe cheat for some extra souls.

Overall not a bad time, took me a long weekend to do and this will not be the last time I play Dark Souls. I love this game and one day I will actually complete Seigmeyer’s Quest line.
